On April 20th Beijing time, the Warriors' 2025-26 season has ended, and Porzingis is set to enter the unrestricted free agent market. NBA reporter Rollins reports that Porzingis has not yet determined his next destination.

Porzingis's career has been persistently troubled by injuries, and after his trade to the Golden State Warriors in February this year, health problems have remained a constant issue. The long-term effects of Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS) meant that after joining the Warriors, he only played 15 out of 31 regular-season games. Due to his physical condition, he needs to first assess his current career situation before making decisions about his future.
When asked by Rollins if he would like to re-sign with the Warriors, Porzingis responded: "That's a difficult question to answer. Honestly, I've really enjoyed my time here. The team management, the entire organization, and my teammates—I can't find any fault, I truly like this team. But as I said before, I've had a terrible year. If this season had gone smoothly, I might have a clearer idea of what I want. Because of the ups and downs this year, I plan to take a slower approach this offseason, consider everything comprehensively, and then choose the best path for my development."
During his tenure with the Warriors, Porzingis averaged 16.1 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game. Despite constant injuries, he often delivered standout performances. Notably, in the play-in game against the Clippers this Thursday, he played 28 minutes, scoring 20 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists, perfectly fitting into Curry and Green's offensive and defensive systems, demonstrating excellent on-court form.

Porzingis stated: "The win against the Clippers was a significant step forward for me. Performing like that was meaningful; I regained my game rhythm, and it was definitely a crucial positive step."
Rollins added that if Porzingis wants to stay with the team, he would likely need to accept a substantial salary reduction. This season is the final year of his contract extension from his Celtics period, with a salary of $30.7 million, but the Warriors are almost certainly unable to offer him a similar annual salary. Meanwhile, the Warriors also face multiple roster challenges: Curry's contract extension negotiations, potential trades involving Green or Butler to pursue top-tier stars, among others.
Even though Porzingis frequently missed games due to injuries, the team still acknowledges his integration over the past two months. Provided salary issues can be agreed upon, the Warriors are interested in retaining him.
After the loss to the Suns, head coach Kerr commented on Porzingis, who was dealing with ankle soreness and limited performance: "Porzingis has been outstanding; he completely transformed our team. His ability to stretch the floor from the perimeter combined with interior rim protection and blocking brought a new offensive and defensive system to the team."
