Mission accomplished! Kobe's widow Vanessa congratulates Brunson on his championship, echoing the Black Mamba's famous quote.

On June 15, Beijing time, Kobe's widow Vanessa posted a message congratulating New York Knicks point guard Jalen Brunson on winning the NBA championship. She shared a photo on social media with the caption: "Mission accomplished." In the decisive game, Brunson wore the Kobe 6 "Statue of Liberty" colorway sneakers.

The late legendary superstar Kobe Bryant once left an iconic quote. During the 2009 NBA Finals, when the Lakers led 2-0, a reporter asked the legend why he wasn't smiling. Kobe replied: "The job is not finished."

The 29-year-old Brunson delivered an explosive performance in Game 5 of the Finals, leading his team to a 94-90 victory. He scored 45 points, along with 3 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals. Throughout the series, Brunson averaged 32.6 points and 4.6 assists per game, shooting 42.1% from the field and 38.9% from three-point range, ultimately winning the Finals MVP award.

Before Game 3, Brunson mentioned Kobe's "Mamba Mentality" in an interview. He said: "I haven't rewatched any game footage recently. My approach today comes from the lessons my parents taught me, and I am also deeply influenced by the Mamba Mentality – the two are connected. I focus on the present, do what I can, adjust my mindset, keep my body and mind in top shape, and trust in the accumulation of daily practice."

After winning the championship, head coach Mike Brown said in an interview: "I have great respect for Patrick Ewing. I hope he doesn't get mad at me... He is taller than me. We are both older and slower now, but when it comes to representing New York basketball, Jalen Brunson is absolutely one of a kind. He is truly amazing." Helping the team end a 53-year championship drought, such praise is well-deserved.
