On June 18, Beijing time, the Boston Celtics are keen to emerge victorious in the battle for Giannis, yet if this trade is completed, one of the team's key players will be unhappy.

ESPN insider Spears disclosed on a program: Should the Celtics send Jaylen Brown as the main asset to acquire Giannis, Brown personally does not want to suit up for the Bucks.
"I've heard that the Celtics really want to swoop in and get Giannis, but that means moving Jaylen Brown," Spears said. "From what I understand, Jaylen has no interest in playing in Milwaukee."
Brown helped the Celtics win the 2024 NBA championship and, in most games this season without Jayson Tatum alongside him, performed at an MVP level. However, the Celtics were eliminated in the first round of this year's playoffs, and the team plans to make significant roster changes this summer to compete for a title again next season.
Observers believe that acquiring Giannis through a trade would undoubtedly achieve that goal, but the Celtics are not the only team eyeing the two-time MVP. Spears noted that the Miami Heat might be able to offer the most attractive package for the Bucks, though Milwaukee is not impressed with Miami's proposed deal.
If the Celtics are willing to part with Brown, that package would be enough to land Giannis, but Brown would likely be disgruntled if sent to Milwaukee.
In the 2025-26 season, Brown played 71 regular-season games, averaging 28.7 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 5.1 assists, while Giannis played 36 regular-season games, averaging 27.6 points, 9.8 rebounds, and 5.4 assists.
