HLE entered the finals with high morale after a 3-1 victory over T1 in the lower bracket final. The orange-clad team maintained their momentum by winning the first game, forcing Gen.G to play catch-up from the start of the series.
However, the loss in the opening game did not cause Gen.G to lose control. The defending champions quickly adjusted their execution, improved objective control, and limited the gaps that Kanavi, Zeka, and other HLE members could exploit.
Starting from game two, Gen.G began to show their familiar strength. Ruler used Kalista and became the primary damage source, helping the team tie the series 1-1. This was also the point when the momentum of the finals clearly shifted in Gen.G's favor.
Game three became the biggest turning point of the entire BO5 series. Ruler was given Zeri and delivered an almost perfect performance with a KDA of 11/1/3. The veteran AD carry's positioning and damage output allowed Gen.G to win crucial team fights repeatedly.
The victory in game three put Gen.G ahead 2-1, while putting immense pressure on HLE. From holding the advantage after the first game, Zeus, Kanavi, Zeka, Gumayusi, and Delight were now just one game away from defeat.
In game four, Gen.G maintained their proactive stance. Ruler switched to Corki, while the rest of the roster continued to show map control and stable teamfight execution. HLE tried to find opportunities to force a game five but could not break the opponent's rhythm.
Gen.G closed out the decisive game, thereby completing the overall victory 3-1 and officially ascended to the LCK 2026 championship.
Ruler was awarded the Finals MVP. Over the four games, the Gen.G AD carry used Lucian, Kalista, Zeri, and Corki. Notably, he achieved a KDA of 8/2/7 in game two, 11/1/3 in game three, and continued to play a crucial role in the decisive victory of game four.
This championship helps Gen.G successfully defend their domestic title and raises the organization's total LCK championships to six. Chovy has also been part of all six of Gen.G's LCK titles, further solidifying his status during the team's prolonged dominance.
The finals result also determined the seed order of the LCK at the 2026 World Championship. Gen.G is seed 1, HLE seed 2, T1 seed 3, and Dplus KIA seed 4.
For Gen.G, the LCK championship is the perfect warm-up before Worlds. However, the biggest challenge for Chovy, Ruler, Canyon, Kiin, and Duro still lies on the world stage, where Gen.G continues to aim for the championship trophy missing from their collection.
