The two directly qualified teams are South Korea and Chinese Taipei, based on their performance in the previous Asian Games. The six teams that qualified through the qualifiers are Vietnam, Hong Kong (China), Saudi Arabia, India, United Arab Emirates, and Malaysia.
Vietnam was one of the most impressive teams at the qualifiers held in Kuala Lumpur in June. The Vietnamese representative topped the strong group in the seeding stage with a perfect record of 3 wins against Hong Kong, Saudi Arabia, and India.
This gives Vietnam's LoL team high hopes for medal contention at ASIAD 2026.
In the qualifiers, the Vietnamese team featured notable names such as Kiaya, Hizto, Dire, Eddie, Taki, and SofM, along with coaches Ciel and Naul.
Among the opponents, South Korea remains the top contender for the gold medal, boasting a roster of top players from the world's strongest LoL region. Vietnam, Hong Kong, and Chinese Taipei are also expected to put up a significant fight.
