The King's S45 season is about to begin and the early access server has already received the update. But a tiny incident happened: the hero fragment shop listed two uncommon heroes, Ying Zheng and Zhao Yun, indicating they could be redeemed with 68 hero fragments. The officials have already taken action and posted an announcement. What's the story behind this?

Early Access Server Fragment Shop Glitch

Following the previous rule update by the officials, the hero fragment shop has become fully open, allowing most heroes to be exchanged directly. However, a few are still excluded, such as SNK heroes which are only obtainable through specific events, Wu Zetian which requires a Glory Crystal, Han Xin which needs a King's Crystal, and heroes like Ying Zheng and Zhao Yun that are clearly pay-to-unlock, needing top-up currency (points).

Therefore, the appearance of these two heroes in the early access server's fragment shop was essentially an error. The officials responded quickly: first, they fixed the bug so the two heroes won't show up again; second, players who had already exchanged via this channel will have the heroes reclaimed and will be refunded the hero fragments spent. Overall, this handling is standard and reasonable.

Why the recovery? Some players might think exchanging freely is fine, treating it as a bonus, but it may be unfair to others. After all, some players bought these heroes with real money, and suddenly making them permanently free could cause psychological imbalance. In fact, many skins have gradually turned into freebies, and some limited skins have started limited trials, which has already sparked complaints. So caution is needed.

Free Channels

But to be fair, these heroes aren't hard to get, especially Ying Zheng, who can be acquired for free, albeit through non-permanent channels that require waiting for the right moment.

The simplest way to obtain Ying Zheng and Zhao Yun is through events like the recent limited-time voucher event, where the game gave away 1000 vouchers for free. You could directly exchange for Ying Zheng or Zhao Yun with those. However, you could only pick one this time. Ao Yin is similar but requires 988 limited-time vouchers, a bit more.

Zhao Yun also has a first-recharge channel, which is essentially free because you get him as a gift after recharging 60 vouchers. Those 60 vouchers remain in your account and can be used to buy Yuanmeng series skins or flash sale skins, plus you earn Zhao Yun as an extra reward.

As for others, the King's Crystal comes from diamond draws, and diamonds cost no extra money. Even Han Xin had a gold coin chest not long ago, guaranteed after 6000 gold coins. The only tricky one is Wu Zetian, which takes longer. Generally, within about two years, you can accumulate enough lucky draw tickets or Honor Points through various events to get a Glory Crystal.
