LCK Cup's beautiful female caster passes away due to illness! EWC reveals draw rules: BLG has a 50% chance to face Brazil in the first match

The 2026 League of Legends Mid-Season Invitational is only five days from the play-in stage. A domestic media outlet recently released an interview with BLG's top laner and support after their victory. Bin stated: "The MSI goal is to take the championship. We just have to keep winning." When asked about talent versus hard work, Bin said: "Both matter, but hard work is easier. Talent is about luck."

ON shares the same goal as Bin—to play every match well and strive for the championship. When asked which team he most wants to face at MSI, ON directly said T1, because he considers T1's support Keria to be very strong and wants to challenge him again. Interestingly, the MSI draw rules could actually have BLG face T1 in their first match. Let's see if ON can outplay Keria this time.

LCK Cup female caster passes away from illness

During the first LCK split, the playoffs were held as a "tour" with the finals in Hong Kong. The on-site host was Hong Kong's rising female MC, Shi Keying. This young lady has strong professional skills—like LPL's "World's First Translator," she is proficient in four languages (English, Chinese, Cantonese, and Korean). While hosting the LCK Cup finals, she energized the crowd and interacted smoothly with players.

Unfortunately, when she hosted the LCK Cup finals in March, she was already battling cancer, though she hadn't disclosed it publicly until May. After months of fighting, the 29-year-old Shi Keying ultimately succumbed to the disease. Before passing away, she donated her body. Leaving so young—life is truly fragile. Everyone should take care of their health.

EWC reveals draw rules

After the MSI concludes in July, the EWC (Esports World Cup / Oil Cup) will follow. Saudi officials recently announced the draw rules for the EWC group stage. The 16 participating teams are divided into different seed pools based on their qualification results. The specifics are as follows: Pool 1: HLE, TSW, G2, BLG; Pool 2: AL, T1, LYON, GEN; Pool 3: GAM, JDG, KC, DK.

Pool 4: FUR, MKOI, SEN, LOS. The first round follows a 1-4 and 2-3 draw format, with regional avoidance—no two teams from the same region can be placed in the same group. This means the four LCK teams will be split into different groups. No matter how the draw goes, LPL teams will face LCK teams in the group stage. Among the four teams in Pool 4, two are Brazilian. BLG has a 50% chance to face a Brazilian team in their first match.

Wayward: Major is the number one esports event

The neighboring CS:GO international event, the Cologne Major, has concluded, with Niko taking the championship, causing a stir in the FPS esports scene. LOL co-streamer Wayward recently discussed the differences between the Major and the LOL World Championship during a livestream. He said: "In esports, I think CS:GO is the most exciting, followed by LOL." His comments immediately sparked controversy, with many viewers questioning his stance.

Wayward then added: "Don't stir up drama—I never said the Major is greater than Worlds. I only said the Major is the world's number one esports event." By eating the rice of League of Legends while praising CS:GO, Wayward might be risking his job. Both the Major and Worlds are the most prestigious events for their respective games. Wayward's ranking effectively placed the S-Worlds behind the Major, not even on par.

Conclusion:

In early June, Wayward had his co-streaming privileges suspended for a few days after saying LPL officials couldn't afford to invite guests. Now he's causing trouble again. His position as a co-streamer seems genuinely at risk. Many LOL streamers and players enjoy playing CS:GO, but saying League of Legends is inferior to CS:GO on stream is just too naive.

What do you think about Wayward's comments?
