The first LPL team to disband has emerged! Four players from WBG have left, leaving only Xiaohu to participate in events

Hello, LPL viewers and League of Legends summoners, this is Game World.

The LPL season is winding down, with just six teams left to play. Other teams have already begun their holidays, and in this process, the first team to dissolve has emerged.

The first LPL team to disband has arrived

A couple of days ago, Yao gave two leaks: the first was that the Relegation Group would be canceled next year, and the second was that WBG's bot lane had already terminated their contracts.

Many fans asked if WBG would build around Elk as the core, but that's off the table since Elk has already left the team.

Canceling the Relegation Group is a major change. Previously, the split into Peak Group and Relegation Group was due to many teams not trying seriously. Now, canceling the Relegation Group might mean that the number of teams will decrease next year.

However, even though the LCK only has 10 teams, they still adopted LPL's Peak-Relegation format, so canceling the Relegation Group might not be a wise choice.

Then came the latest leak: Hongcha revealed that WBG now only has Xiaohu left.

The league wanted WBG to participate in an event, and the team needed to send at least two players. But now only Xiaohu remains as the "lonely old man," with the other four players having all left.

Combining earlier leaks, Zika has also left, and Xiaohao, originally from EDG, leaving is normal. Thus, the LPL's first disbanded team has been born.

WBG clears its roster, waiting for the transfer period

WBG has essentially emptied its team. Many viewers are puzzled as to why only Xiaohu stayed. Is WBG planning to build around Xiaohu next year? Xiaohu's current skill level is no longer enough to form a top-tier team.

Normally, if WBG still aims for results next year, the player they should keep is Elk. If WBG voluntarily terminated Elk's contract, then they might indeed be looking to tank next season.

However, it's still possible that WBG will make moves at the end of the year. First, the Relegation Group has been canceled, and second, WBG has always been financially strong.

If a large number of high-performing players become free agents at the end of the year, WBG might also make a move.

But compared to top-ranked teams, WBG has no advantages.

Teams like JDG and AL are actually easier to strengthen. The expected destination for Elk is probably one of these two teams. JDG's GALA has seen a significant decline in performance, while AL's Hope has always been a weak point.

It's hard for the LPL to form a top-tier team

The current situation in the LPL is that, aside from BLG, it's difficult for other teams to assemble a top-tier lineup. If BLG doesn't change its roster at the end of this year, other teams will face greater difficulty in strengthening.

Ideally, if we reshuffle all the strong players, there might be a chance to form a lineup that can threaten BLG.

For example, building around AL's core roster—keeping Tarzan and Kael as the jungler and support, not letting them return to the LCK—and just reinforcing top and bot. Bring in Zuian for top lane and Elk for bot lane, and the lineup would look decent on paper.

Then there's JDG. JDG is similar to AL; they also need to replace their top and bot positions. The problem with the LPL now is that there are too few talented players. Only one team can assemble a full top-tier lineup, while others fall short.

Another key point is whether IG will continue to compete next year. To be honest, IG's roster isn't bad, and if they keep playing, they have a chance to achieve results. The LPL also needs IG's popularity.

Finally, I hope the LPL can win the World Championship in a comeback. If they can win the S title, it will solve the LPL's urgent problems.
