What did Indonesia's coach say before the decisive match against Vietnam U17?

Indonesia U17 head coach Kurniawan Dwi Yulianto expressed confidence ahead of the encounter with Vietnam U17.

On the eve of the decisive match against Vietnam U17, Indonesia U17 head coach Kurniawan Dwi Yulianto stated that the entire team has regained morale after the loss to Malaysia:

"Indeed, over the past two days, our coaching staff has worked very hard, especially the players. After the defeat, the players felt very discouraged on the night following the match", Kurniawan said during a training session.

"Over the past two days, our support staff has tried to rekindle the players' competitive spirit. Not only the coaching staff but also psychologists and the medical team have continuously interacted with the players. The assessment results before training were quite positive. They said they are very ready for tomorrow's match", he added.

In the match against Vietnam, Coach Kurniawan said he has instructed his players to regain their composure, particularly not to feel inferior: "We know Vietnam has performed well in the first two matches. But once again, nothing is impossible in football. Therefore, we are focusing more on the players' psychology. How to prevent them from feeling defeated before the match is very important", he said.

Alongside mental training, tactical evaluation was also a key focus of the session. Coach Kurniawan warned the players to concentrate and minimize mistakes in the defensive area.

"I emphasized to the players that they must maintain confidence in the team's strengths without becoming overconfident. And we particularly stressed to the players that they must not commit even the most basic mistakes, especially in defense. We hope they will be more focused throughout the 90 minutes," he said.
