Endrick shines brightly, Lyon defeats PSG after 6 years of waiting

The dazzling performance of young forward Endrick, with one goal and one assist, helped Lyon beat PSG 2-1, creating a seismic shock right at the home ground of the reigning champion.

Round 30 of Ligue 1 witnessed one of the biggest surprises of the season when the giant Paris Saint-Germain unexpectedly fell to Olympique Lyonnais. On a day when the stars of coach Luis Enrique appeared fatigued after their achievement in the Champions League, the visiting Lyon team thoroughly exploited the lapse to secure all 3 points after 6 years of waiting in Paris.

The major battle began with a nightmare scenario for PSG. From the 6th minute, Endrick - the "gem" playing on loan from Real Madrid - poured cold water over the Parc des Princes stands. Receiving a setup pass from Afonso Moreira, the young Brazilian talent surged forward and decisively shot past goalkeeper Safonov at a narrow angle, opening the scoring in the match.

With 7 goals scored in just a few months since joining, Endrick is proving himself to be the most successful loan signing in Ligue 1 this season.

Lyon's excitement did not stop there. By the 18th minute, the same script repeated but with a spectacular role reversal. This time, Endrick took on the role of the creator with a pass that tore through PSG's defense, allowing Moreira to break away and calmly increase the score to 2-0. In less than 20 minutes, the young forward duo of coach Paulo Fonseca left the entire Paris stunned.

PSG struggled to rise, and a golden opportunity came in the 31st minute when Lucas Hernandez was fouled in the penalty area. However, on the penalty spot, Goncalo Ramos shot too softly, unable to overcome the excellence of goalkeeper Dominik Greif.

Entering the second half, coach Luis Enrique deployed a series of strategic players like Ousmane Dembele and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. Despite completely dominating ball possession, misfortune still haunted the home team when Dembele's thunderous shot in the 75th minute found the crossbar. It was only in the 4th minute of added time that Kvaratskhelia scored a consolation goal after a well-coordinated play with Fabian Ruiz.

This defeat is a significant setback for PSG, as they now lead the second-placed Lens by only 1 point. Coach Luis Enrique admitted: "You wanted a more competitive league and you have got it. The race will be very difficult until the end of the season".

Conversely, this victory is a massive boost for Lyon in their journey back to the Champions League arena after 6 years of absence. With 54 points, Lyon has climbed to 3rd place, breathing heat onto the leading group. Particularly for Endrick personally, this goal marks his 7th since joining Lyon in January, demonstrating the caliber of a major star despite being only twenty years old.
