The Serie A season has reached its conclusion early, with the title race and the battle for fourth place now devoid of any suspense. Como's two consecutive defeats have eliminated them from the fight for fourth.

Following the conclusion of Serie A's 33rd round, the competitions for the championship and for fourth place may have become completely devoid of suspense. Inter Milan holds a 12-point lead in the Serie A standings; with merely five rounds left, Inter Milan has practically clinched the Serie A title for this season. As for the fight for fourth place, after Como suffered a 1-2 away defeat to Sassuolo this round, marking two consecutive league losses, the uncertainty surrounding fourth place has also dissipated.

The top six positions in the Serie A standings:

  1. Inter Milan: 78 points, ranked first.
  2. AC Milan: 66 points, ranked second.
  3. Napoli: 66 points, ranked third.
  4. Juventus: 63 points, ranked fourth.
  5. Como: 58 points, ranked fifth.
  6. Roma: 58 points, ranked sixth.

Juventus has already established a 5-point gap over Como and Roma, giving the Bianconeri a clear advantage in the race for Champions League qualification. Now, with the Italian national team having missed three consecutive World Cups and Serie A teams being completely absent from the semifinals across all three European competitions this season—while other top-five leagues have at least two teams advancing, with the Premier League having four—the four major Serie A clubs, Milan's two giants, Napoli, and Juventus, must shoulder the responsibility of restoring Champions League glory next season.
