Recently, Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes was linked as a transfer target for Turkish Super League front-runners Galatasaray. Yet this speculation clearly lacks credibility. United teammate Sena Lamens revealed that B. Fernandes has resolved to stay with the team, aiming to claim both the Premier League and Champions League championships.

At Stamford Bridge, B. Fernandes provided the assist for Cunha's decisive strike, leading to a 1-0 win against Chelsea, and he earned the Player of the Match honor post-game. That assist marked his 18th in the Premier League this season, making him a strong contender for the Player of the Year award. After the match, the award-winning B. Fernandes was the last to leave the pitch; as he spoke to reporters, fans loudly sang his praises.
The 31-year-old B. Fernandes' contract with Manchester United expires next year, but the club holds an option to extend it by one additional season. Lamens clearly stated that B. Fernandes plans to remain at United for the upcoming season. Lamens also explained B. Fernandes' habit of gesturing with open hands on the field, viewing it as a reflection of his high standards.
"Honestly, I appreciate that style," Lamens remarked regarding B. Fernandes' approach. "He isn't always the most vocal, but when he needs to speak up, especially before crucial matches, he does. Or when we face greater difficulties, he is also someone who is very, very demanding of himself and others. So, when things don't go our way, he might occasionally appear somewhat frustrated. But I believe, at this level, it has to be that way."

Lamens disclosed that B. Fernandes desires to win both the Premier League and Champions League with Manchester United. "He wants to win the Premier League title and also the Champions League. So he thinks by that standard and strives to inspire us accordingly. He pushes us to reach his level; thus, whether on or off the pitch, he is a leader. He certainly sets high demands, but he also understands that in the Premier League environment there are wins and losses, and the key is how you respond."
English media reports that Manchester United's current attacking tactic is straightforward: "pass the ball to B. Fernandes." If unsure, giving the ball to B. Fernandes is a tried-and-true strategy for United, and it remains effective. During the Chelsea match, there was a moment when, as Chelsea's Wesley Fofana received treatment, B. Fernandes engaged in a lengthy discussion with manager Carrick on the sidelines. Subsequently, B. Fernandes approached striker Šeško, seemingly advising him on positioning and movement.
After play resumed, B. Fernandes broke past former teammate Garnacho's defense, advanced down the right flank, and delivered a cross. Šeško executed a "screen" tactic to obstruct Caicedo, allowing Cunha to score unmarked. Asked whether his instructions helped B. Fernandes achieve the assist, Carrick denied: "Bruno made the assist after I talked to him? I'm not about to claim credit!"

Manchester United's victory certainly owed some thanks to luck; it was hardly a spectacular win, but at this stage of the season, the result is paramount. United had only one center-back, Eden Haven, available, so achieving their sixth clean sheet of the season at Chelsea's home ground is indeed worthy of celebration.
Lenny Yoro suffered a hip injury during midweek training, while Maguire and Lisandro Martínez were suspended. De Ligt has been sidelined with a back issue since last November. Mazraoui shifted to center-back alongside Haven; Lamens considered them also as "unsung heroes" of the win.
"It's not that easy," Lamens added. "Our center-back situation has changed frequently; that position requires some confidence and a bit of time to adapt. When you, like Eden (Haven), haven't played for months or several matches, then suddenly start, it's tough. Nusair (Mazraoui) too—he usually plays right-back, now he's at center-back; it's not always straightforward."

Lamens concluded: "But I trust them, because I see their performance every day in training. For me, it's also a significant change; nevertheless, everyone at the club has the ability to perform at a high level when called upon. When the opportunity comes, you must be ready. Today they fulfilled their task and played very well. I hardly felt much difference, so I have nothing but praise for them."
