Bournemouth confirms Marco Rose will take over as head coach, replacing Andoni Iraola, who will leave the club after the season concludes.
Recently, the club's official website Bournemouth announced the appointment of Marco Rose as the team's head coach, following the departure of Andoni Iraola at the end of this season.
Rose will officially take charge of the team this summer with a three-year contract. The agreement was finalized early to allow both the new coach and the club ample time to prepare for the new season.
Last week, Iraola announced he would leave his head coach position when his contract expires at the season's end, concluding a three-year tenure.
Marco Rose has long been the leading candidate to replace Iraola, thanks to his football philosophy and playing style having many similarities.
Rose has not managed any team since being dismissed by RB Leipzig in March 2025. Previously, he worked at Borussia Dortmund, Borussia Monchengladbach, and Red Bull Salzburg.
Bournemouth stated: “For now, the club remains fully focused on finishing the current season as well as possible. The players and coaching staff are maintaining high concentration to achieve positive results and extend the current 13-match unbeaten streak.”
Regarding Iraola, the Spanish strategist will leave Vitality Stadium having left a mark as one of the key figures in elevating Bournemouth. Appointed in June 2023, he quickly helped the club rise strongly in England's top league.
Last season, Bournemouth finished in 9th place with 56 points, their best historical club achievement, and also reached the FA Cup quarter-finals.
This season, the 43-year-old manager continued the progress by lifting the team to 8th position, possessing a 13-match unbeaten streak and still having a chance to compete for a European cup spot.
In the remainder of the season, Bournemouth aims to achieve the best possible results in the final five rounds of the Premier League, and Iraola will certainly strive to deliver a fitting conclusion before parting with the club.
