Thanh Hóa coach hopes Rimario calms down after stopping training

Following the 1-1 draw against SLNA, Thanh Hóa coach Mai Xuân Hợp provided clearer insights regarding the situation of striker Rimario Gordon – a name that has garnered considerable attention recently.

According to the captain of the Thanh region team, Rimario and the club's leadership have held separate meetings, yet both sides have not reached a common agreement. Consequently, the Jamaican striker requested permission to temporarily halt training in the recent period.

“As I understand the information, the two sides did not achieve the desired agreement, so Rimario asked me for permission to temporarily stop training. I have also not received official information from the leadership that he has left the team. At this moment, Rimario remains part of Đông Á Thanh Hóa's roster,” Coach Mai Xuân Hợp stated.

Regarding rumors that Rimario has left Vietnam, Mr. Hợp affirmed he is not fully aware of the truth. According to him, the only thing he knows is that this player directly requested permission from the coaching staff to rest from training, while decisions related to his future will be made by the club's leadership.

Nevertheless, this tactician expressed his hope that all issues be resolved soon so Rimario can return to focus with the team. “I hope Rimario will calm down and all problems between him and the leadership will soon be resolved”, he added.

From a professional perspective, Coach Mai Xuân Hợp admitted that the absence of a quality player like Rimario will certainly affect the team's strength to some extent. However, he still places trust in the collective and believes Thanh Hóa always has a plan to adapt.

“I think in football, the role of the collective is always the most important. If we lack one position, we must find suitable solutions to fill that gap. The team will not depend on any individual,” Coach Mai Xuân Hợp emphasized.

The draw against SLNA caused Đông Á Thanh Hóa to miss the opportunity to improve their position on the rankings, but the story about Rimario clearly will remain a noteworthy issue for this team in the coming period.
