Manchester United is interested in Real Madrid's Casemiro successor! This could trigger a chain of transfers, potentially causing them to miss out on Anderson.

As reported by the British "Daily Telegraph," Manchester United could potentially acquire Real Madrid's "Casemiro successor," Aurélien Tchouaméni, to take over Casemiro's role at Old Trafford. The 26-year-old French midfielder's contract with Real Madrid runs until 2028.

Tchouaméni was originally brought in by Real Madrid to replace Casemiro. He is currently at his peak, having won La Liga and the Champions League at the Bernabéu, and will be a key player for France in this summer's World Cup, having helped "Les Bleus" reach the final in the last major tournament.

Interestingly, Tchouaméni's transfer might stem from Manchester United's failure to secure Elliot Anderson! "Los Galácticos" will decide this summer whether to sign a new midfielder; if needed, they will sell existing players to raise funds.

It is well known that Real Madrid's president, Florentino Pérez, admires Rodri, the Madrid-born Manchester City midfielder who won the 2024 Ballon d'Or and has openly expressed his admiration for the Bernabéu.

Rodri, 29, has a contract with Manchester City until next season. City has already offered him a new deal, but if Real Madrid officially declares interest, it could set off a series of chain reactions. Chelsea's Enzo Fernández has also shown strong interest in joining Real Madrid, which once led to an internal suspension by the Blues.

If they sign a new midfielder, Real Madrid will consider selling Tchouaméni or his French compatriot Eduardo Camavinga to fund the purchase. If Rodri leaves, Manchester City will definitely spend heavily to sign Nottingham Forest's English international Anderson, a 23-year-old midfield powerhouse who has long been a key target for City.

Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano stated: "Manchester City has already begun negotiations with Anderson's agent, but Manchester United is still discussing his transfer and will not give up. They know City planned to sign Anderson long ago, but United hopes to compete until the deal is officially announced."

Romano further explained: "Manchester United wants to try. They believe qualifying for the Champions League could be crucial in narrowing the gap with City. However, the decisive factor will be negotiations with Nottingham Forest and who is willing to pay the price Forest demands."

It is reported that Nottingham Forest hopes to receive at least £100 million from selling Anderson. If the club successfully avoids relegation, the likelihood of obtaining this fee increases significantly. Manchester United highly values Anderson, but such a high transfer fee could become a major obstacle.

Sandro Tonali of Newcastle United is also a candidate considered by Manchester United, but he is not purely a defensive midfielder. Compared to him, Tchouaméni is closer to a traditional holding midfielder. However, his drawback is that he has never played in the Premier League; whether his physical prowess in La Liga can translate to English football remains uncertain.

Manchester United hopes to sign at least two midfielders this summer, as Casemiro is certain to leave after the season with no reversal. If Ugarte also departs, the Red Devils might even consider bringing in a third new midfielder.

Manchester United's primary task this summer is to rebuild the midfield and ensure any new signings complement the existing squad to achieve an ideal combination. For example, Crystal Palace's Adam Wharton is considered too similar to Kobbie Mainoo, making it difficult for them to play together, while Mainoo has renewed his contract with United and will be regarded as a future core player.
