On April 21, 2026, the World Football Federation (FIFA) officially released the new rankings for women's national teams. Accordingly, the Vietnamese women's team is ranked 37th worldwide. This result is based on the performance of the Golden Girls during the recent key period, including their journey at the 33rd SEA Games in late 2025 and the Asian Cup women's finals held in March 2026.

In the recent Asian Cup 2026 arena, after a 0-3 loss to the world-class team Japan on March 10, Vietnam's team was deducted 3.16 points. However, the remaining points of 1,593.71 were still sufficient to maintain a safe gap with regional competitors.
