In line with the Women's Football Development Strategy of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) and the UEFA/AFC Women's Football Development Support Program, from April 21 to 23, 2026, a VFF task force undertook a working trip and practical survey of the women's football scene in Lam Dong - an area recognized as having considerable promise for the growth of women's football.
The working delegation of VFF was led by Mr. Nguyen Van Phu – General Secretary; accompanied by Ms. Nguyen Thanh Ha – Deputy General Secretary, Head of the UEFA/AFC Women's Football Project; representatives from VFF functional departments including the Technical Department, Training Department – Grassroots Football & Member Organization; and Ms. Nguyen Thi Mai Lan – Head Coach of the National Women's U15 Football Team.
Within the program framework, the delegation held a working session with leaders of the Lam Dong Provincial Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism (Mr. Huynh Ngoc Tam - Deputy Director), representatives of the Lam Dong Provincial Football Federation (Mr. Vu Van Quang, Standing Vice Chairman), the Provincial Sports Training and Competition Center, the Provincial Department of Education and Training, along with local football officials and experts.
During the meeting, local leaders expressed particular interest in the work of developing women's football, while emphasizing the important role of women's football in the province's overall sports development strategy. The parties agreed to further promote the women's football movement locally, gradually integrating women's football competitions into the province's official competition system; with immediate priority focused on developing youth women's football.
During the trip, the delegation directly surveyed resources, infrastructure conditions, and the current state of the local women's football movement to formulate specific development directions for the future.
On the afternoon of April 22, 2026, at Lam Dong Provincial Stadium, VFF experts conducted assessments and evaluated the professional level of 106 female players selected from schools and community football centers across the province.
The players participating in the survey belonged to various age groups, demonstrating a good professional foundation, positive competitive spirit, and noteworthy development potential. Following the evaluation process, experts including Ms. Huynh Thi Thanh Khiet – Assistant Coach of the National Women's Futsal Team, Head Coach of the women's futsal club Thai Son Nam; Mr. Trang Thiện Tran – Coach of the Ho Chi Minh City Women's U16 Football Club; along with Ms. Nguyen Thi Mai Lan – Head Coach of the National Women's U15 Football Team, selected a number of outstanding players for continued training and development in the coming period.
The working trip to Lam Dong not only demonstrated VFF's commitment to expanding and enhancing the quality of women's football nationwide, but also opened new opportunities for Lam Dong women's football to develop robustly, contributing quality human resources to Vietnamese women's football in the future.
