Van Quyet: 'Even if Ninh Binh had three Hoang Ducs, it would be the same'

Forward Van Quyet stated that even with three Hoang Ducs in the squad, Ninh Binh Club's result would remain unchanged. The Hanoi Club captain's comments following their 3-2 victory over Ninh Binh in round 20 of the LPBank V-League 2025/26 stirred controversy.

"I believe Hanoi Club prepared well. Today's match saw five goals, with three scored by us and two resulting from situations we allowed Ninh Binh to score.

I assess that the young players put in great effort, especially their focus in the final minutes. This is a fantastic victory as we secured all three points away from home."

When asked about Ninh Binh not using Hoang Duc from the start, Van Quyet candidly expressed his view: "I think having three Hoang Ducs wouldn't change things. To me, a style where defenders just launch long balls to forwards isn't proper football. However, I cannot fully evaluate the opponent.

The key is that we executed our preparations well. Two home wins and one away victory are highly commendable results, and we want to dedicate that to our fans.

In reality, I don't wish to speak too much. Everyone can see Hanoi Club improving daily. Not only the coaching staff but all players have the desire to play.

In this match, a young player made his mark with one goal and played about 70 minutes. That shows confidence isn't only from the core players but also that the young players are integrating very well."

Van Quyet scored his third goal from 19 matches this season. He is also the domestic player scoring the most in the V-League, with 124 goals over 16 seasons.
