Mikel Arteta admits Arsenal is facing many difficulties in the title race as they must adapt their squad and achieve nearly perfect points to compete for the crown.
Manager Mikel Arteta has candidly acknowledged that the Premier League title race this season is becoming more intense than ever, as Arsenal must meet a higher points standard if they want to reach for the trophy.
Speaking after a series of tense matches, the Spanish strategist could not hide the pressure the team is facing. “We know how difficult it is to win the league title. We have to earn more points this season, so the whole team is giving their utmost effort.”, Arteta emphasized.
In reality, Arsenal is still in a tight race where every small mistake could come at a high cost. Not only facing pressure from direct competitors, “The Gunners” also have to solve the squad puzzle as many key players have not had sufficient time to play together.
Arteta also pointed out that one of the team's biggest issues this season is the lack of stability in personnel. “They haven't played together much this season. With Havertz and Saka, they have never played together, which is quite unbelievable.”, he shared.
The constant need to rotate the lineup makes it difficult for Arsenal to maintain cohesion, a crucial factor in the final stages. Nevertheless, Arteta still believes his team is on the right track, especially in terms of fighting spirit.
Without avoiding reality, the 44-year-old coach admitted the team has had to adapt under non-ideal circumstances. “We have had to deal with many issues throughout the season.”, he added.
Despite that, Arsenal still holds a chance if they can maintain stability in the final rounds. For Arteta, the key lies not only in tactics but also in the mental fortitude that will determine who wins this breathless race.
