Nguyen Dinh Bac scored a hat-trick against his hometown team, entering V-League history.

Nguyen Dinh Bac's brilliant performance against Song Lam Nghe An in Round 20 of the V-League created a very special milestone for Vietnamese football.

Dinh Bac: the first pure domestic player to score a hat-trick in the V-League after 5 years.

The hat-trick against SLNA made Dinh Bac the first pure domestic player to score three goals in a single V-League match in the last five seasons. This is a noteworthy statistic in a league increasingly dominated by foreign and naturalized players on the scoring charts.

The last time a purely Vietnamese player achieved a similar feat was in 2021, when Nguyen Tien Linh scored a hat-trick in Binh Duong's 4-3 victory over Nam Dinh on April 8, 2021. Since then, while hat-tricks have occurred in the V-League, none have been by purely domestic players.

Notably, Rafaelson once scored five goals against Thanh Hoa in the 2023 season, but at that time, this striker had not completed his naturalization procedures. Similarly, recent hat-tricks, such as by Hoang Vu Samson (Quang Nam defeated Khanh Hoa 5-0, June 2024) or even Xuan Son (Nam Dinh defeated Binh Duong 4-1, November 2024), are not counted as achievements of domestic players.

Therefore, Dinh Bac's shining performance carries significant meaning, not only for the player himself but also for Vietnamese football. It shows positive signals from the young domestic player generation, in a context where many clubs still heavily rely on foreign strikers in their attack.

At a very young age, Dinh Bac is steadily establishing himself in the colors of Cong An Hanoi. If he continues to maintain this form, he could fully become a hope for Vietnamese football, while also opening a trend for more equitable competition between domestic and foreign players in the V-League.
