2026 National Second Division Finals: VAR applied in all matches.

In order to improve the quality of match management, ensuring accuracy and fairness in the decisive stage of the season, the VFF decided to apply VAR technology to all 3 matches in the Finals.

This is the second time VAR technology has been deployed at the National Second Division football tournament, after the first time it was applied in the 2024 season Finals. This decision further affirms the VFF's efforts to improve the quality of organization and management of national football tournaments, not only in the professional football system but also in semi-professional and youth competitions.

To deploy VAR at the 2026 National Second Division Finals, the VFF received coordination and support from Vietnam Professional Football Joint Stock Company (VPF) and FP T Television Company Limited.

Based on experience in organizing and operating VAR at national professional football tournaments in recent years, relevant units have developed a deployment plan suitable to the tournament's organization conditions. Accordingly, the VAR system will be operated according to technical standards equivalent to matches in the V.League 1 National Championship, with at least 8 cameras including panoramic and close-up angles, two offside detection cameras, two behind-goal cameras, and other supporting angles to serve the analysis and evaluation of situations by the VAR referee team.

To ensure teams understand the operation process and protocols related to VAR, the tournament organizing committee will hold a professional briefing on the afternoon of June 12 in Quy Nhon with the participation of coaching staff, team captains, and player representatives of the teams participating in the Finals.

According to the schedule, the first match between Hanoi Youth and Truong Giang Gia Dinh will take place at 16:00 on June 13. The second match between Lam Dong and Hue will take place at 19:00 on the same day. The two winning teams will be jointly crowned champions and officially earn promotion to the National First Division for the 2026/27 season, while the two losing teams will face each other on June 16 to compete for the remaining promotion spot.
