The Hanoi FC manager also expressed his eagerness to offer Australian viewers a perspective from someone who has personally experienced the pressure and unique emotions of the world's biggest stage.
"I'm really looking forward to sharing with the audience what players go through when competing under the watch of the entire world," Kewell said.
The 1978-born former midfielder emphasized that the World Cup and SBS have been intertwined in the minds of generations of Australian fans. Thus, being part of the broadcaster's coverage for the 2026 World Cup is a great honor for him.

According to the schedule, Australia will face Turkey in Vancouver on June 14 (11:00 AM Vietnam time), then take on USA in Seattle on June 20 (2:00 AM), and finally play Paraguay on June 26 (9:00 AM).
Coach Harry Kewell predicts: "Turkey will be the strongest team in the group, and if they start well, they might rest one or two players at the end of the group stage."
"If we get points against Turkey, that's great, but if not, it will put Australia in a difficult position in the matches against the USA and Paraguay, because we will have to attack to get a favorable result."
