Public Security of Ho Chi Minh City defeated Ninh Binh away from home to win the 2025-26 National Cup.

The Ho Chi Minh City Police team won the 2025/26 National Cup by defeating Ninh Binh 2-1 in the final at Ninh Binh Arena. Under coach Phung Thanh Phuong, they showed effective attacks and resilience to hold onto their lead.

Right from the kickoff, Ninh Binh took the initiative. The team, featuring stars like Nguyen Hoang Duc, constantly pressured the opponent's goal. In the 5th minute, Ninh Binh had two consecutive chances inside the box but failed to convert.

Hoang Duc made his mark again with a fine one-touch shot in the 8th minute, but goalkeeper Le Giang made an excellent save for Ho Chi Minh City Police. However, while playing well, Ninh Binh suddenly conceded. In the 16th minute, from Minh Trong's corner kick, Utzig leaped high and headed the ball into the net to open the scoring for Ho Chi Minh City Police.

Falling behind, Ninh Binh pushed forward in search of an equalizer but struggled against the tight defense of their opponents. Meanwhile, Ho Chi Minh City Police continued to show danger on the counterattack.

In the 34th minute, Williams used his ability to beat the offside trap, got past goalkeeper Dang Van Lam, and scored into an empty net, doubling Ho Chi Minh City Police's lead. The first half ended with the red-clad team leading 2-0.

In the second half, Ninh Binh threw everything into attack. Chances came frequently, with Hoang Duc and his teammates repeatedly shaking Ho Chi Minh City Police's defense. However, goalkeeper Le Giang continued his impressive performance.

The turning point came in the 71st minute when Ninh Binh was awarded a penalty after Henrique was fouled in the box. Geovane stepped up and converted, reducing the deficit to 1-2. The final minutes saw intense pressure from Ninh Binh. Nevertheless, Ho Chi Minh City Police held firm against the relentless attacks and even had chances to seal the game but failed to capitalize.

In the end, Ho Chi Minh City Police won 2-1, thereby becoming champions of the 2025/26 National Cup. Ninh Binh left with regrets as they failed to make use of their home advantage, while Ho Chi Minh City Police showed coolness and efficiency at crucial moments.
