80 teams are competing in the Youth and Children's Football Tournament

Ho Chi Minh City Television (HTV) collaborated with related organizations to organize the opening ceremony of the qualifying stage for the HTV Cup 2026 Youth (U13) and Children (U11) Football Tournament, themed "Dream of the Green Pitch," on the morning of June 14.

This tournament is organized in coordination with the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training, the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union, and the Ho Chi Minh City Football Federation. It aims to create a beneficial playground for children during the summer vacation while also helping to discover and nurture young football talents.

A special feature of this season is that, for the first time, the qualifying round is deployed across the entire Ho Chi Minh City mega-urban area after the merger, attracting nearly 80 U11 and U13 football teams from communes, wards, and the special zone of Con Dao to participate.

Right after the opening ceremony, the qualifying matches officially commenced from June 14 to 19 at five football fields in the areas of Ben Thanh ward, An Nhon ward, Binh Duong ward, Ba Ria ward, and Long Dien commune.

The best teams will qualify for the city-level finals, which are expected to take place from July 4 to 12 in Ba Ria ward.

Far from being just a sports event, the HTV Cup 2026 is also intended to become a meaningful summer playground for children. Through football, children have the opportunity to improve their physical fitness, socialize, make friends, and learn positive values such as teamwork, sharing, perseverance, and the aspiration to rise.

With the messages "Every football field is a classroom," "Beautiful football starts from childhood," and "Summer on the green pitch – Where dreams begin," the organizing committee hopes the tournament will contribute to creating a healthy living environment, helping children have a rewarding and memorable summer.

On this occasion, HTV also awarded many scholarships to students facing difficulties, with a passion for learning and outstanding football talent, providing them with additional motivation to pursue their dreams in both academics and life.

All matches in the qualifying and final rounds will be broadcast live on HTV Sports, HTV3, HTV Key, VOH, and HTV's digital platforms.
