Doan Tuan Phong, a rising star in Vietnam's young futsal scene, was given timely support by VFF officials as he underwent treatment for a severe knee injury.
On the afternoon of June 24, VFF Deputy General Secretary Nguyen Minh Chau, along with representatives from various departments, visited Vinmec Smart City International General Hospital in Hanoi to check on and encourage goalkeeper Doan Tuan Phong after his knee ligament surgery.
Doan Tuan Phong is regarded as one of the most promising young goalkeepers in Vietnamese futsal. Born in 2007, he won the Best Goalkeeper award at the 2025 National U20 Futsal Championship while playing for Thai Son Bac, and was also the first-choice goalkeeper for the Vietnam U19 futsal team at the 2025 Southeast Asian U19 Futsal Championship.

However, during the semifinal match against Indonesia U19 in the tournament held in Thailand, Tuan Phong unfortunately suffered a serious knee injury and had to undergo surgery. According to doctors' assessments, the young goalkeeper will need at least six months to recover before he can return to training and competition.
During the visit, Deputy General Secretary Nguyen Minh Chau offered words of encouragement to Tuan Phong, urging the young player to maintain a positive attitude and strictly follow the treatment protocol in order to return to the field soon. The VFF representative also affirmed that they will continue to accompany and provide the best possible conditions for this promising goalkeeper's recovery.
Additionally, VFF leaders expressed gratitude to the medical team at Vinmec for successfully performing the surgery, thereby creating favorable conditions for the treatment and recovery of the young Vietnamese futsal player.
The VFF's concern is not only a great source of spiritual encouragement for Doan Tuan Phong personally, but also reflects its care for the young talents of Vietnamese futsal.
With his determination and the support from medical experts, fans hope that the goalkeeper born in 2007 will return to the field soon to continue his career development and contribute to the national teams in the future.
