Expected lineup for Norway vs France: Haaland takes on Mbappe

After leaving the field just 13 minutes into the match against Senegal due to an injury, Norway defender Julian Ryerson is very unlikely to feature against France. His replacement in the previous game, Marcus Pedersen, is almost certain to be given a starting opportunity.

With four goals scored in the first two matches and currently tied for second place in the tournament's top scorer list, Erling Haaland is clearly the biggest threat for Norway. The striker is undoubtedly determined to prove himself against one of the strongest national teams in the world.

On the French side, the most notable story in squad selection lies in the attack, as the Paris Saint-Germain duo, Bradley Barcola and Désiré Doué, have each started only one match in Group I. However, Doué did not deliver his best performance against Iraq.

In midfield and on the left flank, Manu Koné and Lucas Digne both impressed after being introduced as substitutes in Monday evening's match. This makes it quite difficult to predict whether Aurélien Tchouaméni or Theo Hernandez can reclaim their spots in the starting lineup.

Also having scored four goals in the tournament, Kylian Mbappé has once again proven to be the spearhead of France's attack under Didier Deschamps. The forward will surely be eager to keep finding the net in order to close the gap on Lionel Messi in the race to become the all-time top scorer in World Cup history.

Norway and France squad status

Norway: Julian Ryerson is dealing with an injury issue following the win over Senegal and is likely to be absent. Marcus Pedersen is expected to replace him at right-back. Key players such as Haaland, Odegaard, and Sorloth are all ready to play.

France: No notable injuries reported. Coach Didier Deschamps has his strongest squad available, with Mbappe, Dembele, Olise, and Doue in attack.
