Thanh Thuy has just achieved a new memorable milestone in her career and pledges to keep striving for new summits.
According to the latest update from the volleyball statistics site Volleybox, Tran Thi Thanh Thuy ranks 255th among the world's best female volleyball players in history.
This is Thanh Thuy's highest ranking ever. She is also the highest-ranked Vietnamese female volleyball athlete. Following Thanh Thuy are many other notable names in Vietnamese volleyball history such as Ngoc Hoa, Kim Hue, Khanh Dang, Kim Lien, Pham Thi Yen, Bich Tuyen, Nguyen Thi Trinh, Do Thi Minh, and Dinh Thi Tra Giang.


Thanh Thuy is one of four active female volleyball players and one of two active captains ranked among the top 10 best Vietnamese female volleyball players in history.
The 1.90m tall hitter is preparing to compete in the Hung Vuong Cup with VTV Binh Dien Long An. Thanh Thuy, who recently returned to Vietnam after finishing her contract in Japan, immediately played in the 2026 National Volleyball Championship and played a key role in helping VTV Binh Dien Long An temporarily rank third after the first stage.
The number one captain of Vietnamese women's volleyball just had a fairly successful season playing for Club Gunma Green Wings in the Japanese National Championship. Thanh Thuy scored a total of 627 points for Gunma Green Wings and was among the top 20 highest-scoring players in the 2025-2026 Japanese National Championship season.
With her stable and impressive performance for Gunma Green Wings, Thanh Thuy is expected to receive new international playing invitations in the near future. For now, she will play for VTV Binh Dien Long An in the VTV9 Binh Dien Cup and will focus with the Vietnamese women's volleyball team to prepare for the AVC Cup 2026.
