The 2026 VTV9 Bình Điền International Women's Volleyball Cup promises excitement right from the guest list, gathering strong representatives from Asia, including Gunma Green Wings, the team that main attacker Trần Thị Thanh Thúy recently parted with.
According to information from the organizers, the three international guest teams participating this year include Jiangsu Club (China), Gunma Green Wings (Japan), and Suwon (South Korea). These are all experienced and highly skilled teams, expected to bring quality matches to the tournament.
Alongside the international representatives, the tournament also features five domestic teams: VTV Bình Điền Long An (host), Signal Corps, Ninh Bình, Hanoi, and Industrial and Commercial Bank. These are top teams in Vietnamese women's volleyball, promising an exciting and balanced competition.
Jiangsu is the reigning runner-up in China, while Gunma Green Wings ranks among the top in Japan's league.
The tournament is scheduled to take place from May 15th to 23rd in Tay Ninh. This timing follows immediately after Phase 1 of the 2026 National Championship and the Hung Vuong Cup, providing teams with additional opportunities to compete and enhance their skills before embarking on important annual goals.
In the previous season, the championship title belonged to PFU Blue Cats (Japan). However, this team will not defend its title as they are not participating this year, meaning a new champion is guaranteed to emerge.

Thanh Thúy will wear the jersey of VTV Bình Điền Long An, and she may reunite with Gunma Green Wings.
One notable highlight is the return of Trần Thị Thanh Thúy in the colors of VTV Bình Điền Long An. Previously, she played for Gunma Green Wings in the 2025-2026 Japanese National League season and has concluded her contract. Thanh Thúy reuniting with her former team not only strengthens Long An but also brings many emotions for fans.
Notably, this year's tournament continues to allow Vietnamese teams to use foreign players, aiming to enhance competitiveness and professional quality. The participation of top representatives from South Korea, China, and Japan is expected to help host teams accumulate valuable experience through high-level matches.
According to the plan, the group draw ceremony will be held in May, promising exciting matchups right from the group stage of this year's tournament.
