The Vietnam women's volleyball team is anticipated to add 14 more athletes to get ready for key international competitions still on the 2026 calendar. Specifically, the Information Corps - Army Corps 19 contributes three called-up players: Hoang Thi Kieu Trinh, Pham Quynh Huong, and Nguyen Huynh Phuong Thuy.
Currently, the Vietnam women's volleyball team is training in Da Lat (Lam Dong) with a squad of 14 players to prepare for international duties in 2026. After completing the physical conditioning phase, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet and his team are expected to return to the training center in Bac Ninh in early July to enter the technical refinement stage.
According to the plan, the coaching staff has proposed adding 14 more players to expand the roster. However, the athletes will officially join the team only after the Vietnam Volleyball Federation completes procedures to exchange with their home clubs and obtains their consent.
The three faces from the Information Corps - Army Corps 19 in the supplementary list are: Hoang Thi Kieu Trinh (opposite hitter), Pham Quynh Huong and Nguyen Huynh Phuong Thuy (outside hitters). These are all players assessed as having potential and having left their mark while playing for their clubs. In particular, Hoang Thi Kieu Trinh is one of the most prominent opposite hitters in Vietnamese women's volleyball in recent years. However, some fans still wonder why top setter Lam Oanh was not called up.

The reinforcement of the squad aims to provide the team with more personnel options as Vietnam women's volleyball must fulfill two international missions occurring almost simultaneously in August: the two legs of the SEA V.League 2026 and the VTV Cup 2026. The coaching staff plans to build two different lineups to ensure competitiveness and maintain players' fitness.
The current list of 14 players training in Da Lat includes: Tran Thi Thanh Thuy, Vo Thi Kim Thoa, Le Nhu Anh, Le Thanh Thuy, Nguyen Khanh Dang, Vi Thi Nhu Quynh, Vi Thi Yen Nhi, Tran Thi Bich Thuy, Ly Thi Luyen, Le Thi Yen, Dinh Thi Thuy, Nguyen Thi Uyen, Dang Thi Kim Thanh, and Doan Thi Xuan. This is the group that recently competed in the AVC Cup 2026 in the Philippines and secured third place.
The biggest goal for the Vietnam women's volleyball team this year is the ASIAD 20 to be held in Japan in September. Adding more young talents and promising faces is seen as an important preparation step to give the team squad depth before major tournaments.
