Recently, the list of additional athletes called up to the Vietnam women's volleyball team has been revealed. Except for Luu Thi Hue, the remaining names are all young and promising faces, expected to secure regular spots on the team in the future.

Notably, opposite hitter Hoang Thi Kieu Trinh cannot join the team despite being called up. Accordingly, the player from Quang Binh (formerly) has not recovered from a hand injury and still needs more rest, missing the upcoming tournaments of the Vietnam team.

Some notable names absent from this call-up include Doan Thi Lam Oanh, Pham Thi Nguyet Anh, Nguyen Thi Kieu Oanh, Ha Kieu Vy, Nguyen Thi Ninh Anh, and Lu Thi Phuong, among others.

13 additional athletes will gather with the 14 players who previously participated in the 2026 AVC Cup to prepare for a busy schedule starting from August, including two legs of SEA V.League, VTV Cup, the Asian Championship, and most importantly, the 20th Asian Games.

Among these, the second leg of SEA V.League coincides with the first days of VTV Cup, so calling up an additional squad will ensure professional standards while also providing opportunities for young players to gain experience and exposure.
