Hoàng Thị Kiều Trinh will probably not join the national team this year because of her hand injury.
The Vietnam women's volleyball team is expected to make notable personnel adjustments during the supplementary training camp in July to prepare for important international tasks in 2026.
Previously, opposite spiker Hoàng Thị Kiều Trinh was named in the supplementary call-up list. However, the outside hitter born in 2001 withdrew because she needed more time to recover after a serious hand injury earlier this year. Facing this situation, coach Nguyễn Tuấn Kiệt decided to select young opposite spiker Đỗ Lại Yến Nhi (Geleximco Hưng Yên) as a replacement.
Yến Nhi is considered one of the promising faces of Vietnamese women's volleyball today. Standing at 1m84 with great professional potential, the former biggest star of Geleximco Thái Bình is expected to gain more experience by training with her seniors on the national team.
In phase 1 of the National Club Championship in Đông Anh, Hanoi two months ago, Yến Nhi was in the top 10 highest scorers - ranked 10th with 82 points.
Additionally, another name unable to join due to injury is Cao Thị Hoa Thắm (HCĐG Lào Cai). The coaching staff plans to call up Đoàn Thị Lâm Oanh (Thông tin-Đông Bắc) as a replacement.
The supplementary call-up list includes mostly young, talented players of Vietnamese women's volleyball, except for Lưu Thị Huệ (LPB Ninh Bình) who has many years of experience. Notably, the list features three U18 Vietnam players: Trịnh Huỳnh Bảo Ngọc, Lê Thùy Linh, and Bùi Thị Ánh Thảo.
The official list may continue to be adjusted after the Vietnam Volleyball Federation completes the consultation process and receives approval from the managing units in accordance with procedures.
After the supplementary players gather, the Vietnam women's volleyball team will increase its roster to 28 athletes. The coaching staff plans to split the squad into two separate training groups to prepare for international tournaments occurring simultaneously in August: the second leg of the SEA V.League 2026 and the VTV Cup 2026.
